🚨 Voxie Tactics Dev Diaries: Updates from 22nd September 2023 🚨 The Voxie Tactics team has had a crazy of a week, packed with progress, new ideas , and work towards new features. Let's dive into whats been going on! Game Development: 🎮 The multiplayer experience is set to elevate with a new Multiplayer Netcode Tech Design. Fixes in equipment scaling, advancements in Move Actions, Path Finding, and enhancements in character and map rendering promise a richer gameplay. The Turn Queue system has also been integrated, optimizing battle sequences. Game Design: 🛡️ Weapon and armor within Unity are under review to ensure top-notch visuals. New 2D assets are being added, and preparations for the Halloween event are in full swing. The Battle UI in Unity is being refined, and world-building efforts continue. Balance remains a priority, with ongoing testing. Marketing: 🫂 The community recently engaged in a Discord AMA and received the September Community Newsletter. Upcoming initiatives include Halloween and Unity planning, a website overhaul, and visual revamps. Economy: 🏛️ A revamped rewards system is in the works. The guild feature is nearing completion, and the Halloween event's economic aspects are being fine-tuned for player rewards. Web Development: 🕸️ Testing for the graph replacement service is underway. Let's delve into what has been rolled out and what's on the horizon. In Game Development, the team has been focusing on streamlining player experiences. A tech design for a new Queue System has been penned down, and its implementation is currently underway. This is expected to enhance player interactions and reduce wait times. The Battle System, a core component of the gameplay, continues to be refined and developed, promising more strategic depth and challenges for players. With Halloween around the corner, Game Design is finalizing assets for the upcoming event, ensuring a spooky and fun-filled experience for players. Reviews of Unity 3D models and 2D assets are being conducted to maintain a high visual standard. The descriptions of abilities within Unity are undergoing a polish, ensuring clarity and understanding for players. Matchmaking is being tested rigorously to ensure fair and balanced matchups, and the team is actively reviewing balance suggestions to keep the gameplay experience optimal. On the Marketing front, the team has successfully deployed the Polygon GDx Launch and rolled out the September Community Newsletter, keeping the player base informed and engaged. Looking ahead, there's a lot in the pipeline. Halloween event planning is in full swing, and there are plans for further integration and developments within Unity. The dedication and hard work of the team has only been getting stronger! So let's jump into what’s been going on. 🎮 In the realm of Game Development, there have been significant strides made, especially within Unity. The items database has seen a fresh update, with missing items assets now imported and processed. Battles are about to get a lot more exciting with the capability to dynamically spawn maps in the battle scene. This unpredictability is further heightened with the introduction of randomized maps. Players can also look forward to seeing characters come to life in battle maps, and the team is hard at work to seamlessly integrate pathfinding in battles. 🛡️ Game Design is another area where the team has been pouring their creativity. Weapons and armor for Unity are currently under audit, ensuring they align with the game's vision. Some of these weapons and armor are also undergoing a rework to enhance gameplay. Abilities are being expanded upon, with the intriguing 'Godly Ability' design being a notable addition. The narrative experience is also being enriched with new lore and quest designs. To ensure that all these elements come together harmoniously, balance testing is being conducted regularly. 🫂 On the Marketing front, the Dev Diary communication plan now extends to platforms like TikTok and YouTube, ensuring a wider reach.
